Sydney Christmas parties are in full swing … some with fund-raising on the side
- Fern Moufarrige and Alina Barlow
- Pork belly with silverbeet puree
- Marly Boyd, Skye Leckie, Blainey North
- Happy raffle winner Michelle Mickelsen
Well heeled, well dressed and well fed … the young and the beautiful who comprise the Silver Committee and their friends decended upon Rose Bay’s waterfront hot spot Regatta for a Christmas lunch to raise funds for the Sydney Children’s Hospital.
Paying for a good time added $20,000 to the coffers on the day.
The Moet and Chandon flowed, the tables were decked out in exquiste pale pink blooms and Regatta’s head chef Claudio Morales served up some fine food for the occasion – including john dory carpaccio, crisp pork belly with silverbeet puree, and hand-cut linguine with a barbecued barraumuni, garlic and chilli.

But was there anyone happier than Michelle Mickelsen, who won the raffle prize. This was no ordinary meat tray! Instead: three nights at one of the Maldives’ Amilla private residences. With that: four bedrooms to accommodate friends, a concierge, beach access, six-star luxury and food that’s overseen by Luke Mangan. Her smile was wide enought to light up a small galaxy.
Getting into the spirit of Christmas were chair of the committee Maree Andrews, Marly Boyd, Ellie Aitken, Deborah Symond and Blainey North (currently wrapping up some stunning designs for the new Crown Perth spa and Crystal Club) together with veteran networkers Skye Leckie and Deeta Colvin.
